Edit and Delete Activities
After creating activities, you may need to update information or remove activities that are no longer needed. This guide covers how to edit and delete activities.
Editing an Activity
Find the Activity
Go to Activities and locate the activity you want to edit. Use search or filters to find it quickly.
Open Actions Menu
Click the three-dot menu (â‹®) on the right side of the activity row.
Select Edit
Click Edit Activity from the menu.
Modify Information
The activity form opens with all current data. Navigate through the tabs to make changes:
- General — Update status, date, work type, farm, or crop
- Work Type & Assignment — Add or remove workers, adjust hours
- Inventory — Add or remove products, update quantities
- Equipment — Add or remove equipment, adjust hours
- Documents & Notes — Update instructions or notes
Save Changes
Click Update Activity to save your changes.
Common Edit Scenarios
Changing Activity Status
To update the status of an activity:
Open the Activity for Editing
Click the three-dot menu and select Edit Activity.
Go to General Tab
Navigate to the General tab.
Change Status
Select the new status from the dropdown:
- Planned → In Progress (when work starts)
- In Progress → Completed (when work finishes)
- Planned → Completed (if work was done on schedule)
Save
Click Update Activity.
Remember: Only activities with Completed status appear in reports. Update status to Completed when work is finished to see the data in your reports.
Adding More Workers
If additional workers join an activity:
Open the Activity
Click three-dot menu → Edit Activity.
Go to Work Type & Assignment Tab
Navigate to the Work Type & Assignment tab.
Click Add More Workers
Click the + Add More Workers button.
Select Additional Workers
Choose the workers to add and click Add Workers.
Set Hours
Enter the hours for each new worker.
Save
Click Update Activity.
Updating Inventory Usage
To correct product quantities:
Open the Activity
Click three-dot menu → Edit Activity.
Go to Inventory Tab
Navigate to the Inventory tab.
Adjust Quantities
Change the quantity values for any product.
Add or Remove Products
Use + Add More Products to add items, or click the trash icon to remove products.
Save
Click Update Activity.
Correcting Equipment Hours
To update equipment operating hours:
Open the Activity
Click three-dot menu → Edit Activity.
Go to Equipment Tab
Navigate to the Equipment tab.
Adjust Hours
Change the hours value for any equipment item.
Save
Click Update Activity.
Deleting an Activity
Warning: Deleting an activity is permanent and cannot be undone. All associated data (workers, inventory, equipment assignments) will be lost.
Find the Activity
Go to Activities and locate the activity you want to delete.
Open Actions Menu
Click the three-dot menu (â‹®) on the activity row.
Select Delete
Click Delete Activity from the menu.
Confirm Deletion
Confirm that you want to delete the activity.
When to Edit vs. Delete
| Scenario | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Wrong information entered | Edit — Correct the data |
| Activity cancelled before starting | Delete — Remove if not needed |
| Activity status needs updating | Edit — Change status |
| Duplicate activity created | Delete — Remove the duplicate |
| Need to add more resources | Edit — Add workers, products, or equipment |
| Activity was completed differently than planned | Edit — Update to reflect actual work |
Editing Completed Activities
You can edit activities even after they’re completed. This is useful for:
- Correcting data entry errors
- Adding missing resource information
- Updating notes with actual results
Editing completed activities will update the data in reports. Make sure your changes are accurate.
Removing Resources from Activities
Remove a Worker
In the Work Type & Assignment tab, click the trash icon next to the worker you want to remove.
Remove a Product
In the Inventory tab, click the trash icon next to the product you want to remove.
Remove Equipment
In the Equipment tab, click the trash icon next to the equipment you want to remove.
Removing resources from an activity does not delete them from your farm database. Workers, products, and equipment remain available for other activities.
Best Practices
Keep Activities Updated
Regularly update activity status as work progresses:
- Start as Planned when scheduling
- Change to In Progress when work begins
- Set to Completed when finished
Review Before Deleting
Before deleting an activity, consider:
- Is the data needed for historical records?
- Would changing the status be more appropriate?
- Are there reports that reference this activity?
Accurate Resource Tracking
Update worker hours, product quantities, and equipment hours to reflect actual usage. This ensures accurate reporting and cost analysis.
Troubleshooting
Cannot Find Activity to Edit
- Use the search box to find by name
- Clear filters to show all activities
- Check if you’re on the correct farm
Changes Not Saving
- Ensure all required fields are filled
- Check your internet connection
- Try refreshing the page and editing again
Activity Missing from Reports
- Verify the activity status is Completed
- Only completed activities appear in reports
- Edit the activity and change status if needed
