Cultivation Zones

Cultivation zones are physical land plots that belong to a specific farm. Think of them as individual fields or parcels within your property. Each zone represents a distinct area where you grow crops, with its own characteristics and management.

Cultivation zones are always linked to a farm. You need to create a farm first before adding zones.

What is a Cultivation Zone?

A cultivation zone is essentially a field — a defined area of land on your farm. Each zone has:

  • Name — to identify the field (e.g., “North Field”, “Vineyard Block A”)
  • Size — measured in hectares
  • Soil type — optional, helps track growing conditions
  • Production system — optional, defines farming method

Zones allow you to organize your farm into manageable sections. You can then assign crops to specific zones, track activities per zone, and generate reports for individual fields.

Why Use Cultivation Zones?

Dividing your farm into zones helps you:

  • Organize crops — assign specific crops to specific areas
  • Track production — monitor each zone’s performance separately
  • Manage activities — plan and record work for individual zones
  • Generate reports — get detailed insights per zone

Zone Properties

Each cultivation zone has the following properties:

PropertyRequiredDescription
Zone Name✓Unique name to identify the zone
Area (hectares)✓Size of the zone in hectares
Soil Type—Select from an extensive list: Clay, Clay Loam, Loam, Sandy, Sandy Loam, and many more
Production System—Select your farming method: Organic, Biodynamic, Conventional, Integrated, and others

Coming Soon (February 2026): In a future update, you will be able to draw cultivation zones directly on a map or import GPS data with polygon coordinates. When using this feature, the zone area will be calculated automatically based on the drawn boundaries.
