Materials Analysis Report
The Materials Analysis Report tracks material consumption patterns and inventory usage across your farming activities. Monitor how seeds, fertilizers, chemicals, and other supplies are used to optimize purchasing and reduce waste.
Accessing the Report
Navigate to Reports
Go to Reports in the left sidebar.
Click Materials Analysis
On the Dashboard, click the Materials Analysis card, or select Materials from the Reports submenu.
Summary Cards
Three cards at the top provide key metrics:

| Total Materials | Number | Different materials used in the period |
| Total Activities | Number | Activities with materials assigned |
| Total Usage | Amount | Combined usage amount across all materials |
These metrics update automatically when you apply filters.
Filters
Expand the Filters panel to refine your data:

| Search | Find by material name, farm, or crop |
| Seasons | Select one or more agricultural seasons |
| Date Range | Choose a specific time period |
| Materials | Filter to specific inventory products |
| Work Types | Filter by type of work performed |
| Farms | Filter by farm location |
| Crop & Location | Filter by crop and cultivation zone |
Filters work together. Combine filters to analyze specific material usage, such as “Fertilizers used on Potato crops in Field 1.”
Data Table
The table displays material usage records:

| Material Name | Name of the inventory product |
| Activity ID | Unique activity identifier |
| Completion Date | When the activity was completed |
| Work Type | Type of work performed |
| Farm | Farm where material was used |
| Crop & Location | Crop and zone |
| Quantity | Amount of material used (with unit) |
Sorting
Click any column header to sort:
- First click: Ascending order
- Second click: Descending order
- Sort by material name, date, quantity, etc.
Pagination
- View 20, 50, or 100 rows per page
- Navigate between pages using Previous/Next buttons
Empty State
If no data matches your filters, you’ll see:
“No materials usage found. Try adjusting your filters or date range to see material consumption data.”
Exporting Data
Apply Filters
Set your desired filters to get the specific data you need.
Click Export CSV
Click the Export CSV button in the top right corner.
Download File
The CSV file downloads with all visible data matching your filters.
The exported CSV includes all columns and can be opened in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet application.
Use Cases
Inventory Planning
Track consumption to plan purchases:
- Filter by date range (e.g., last season)
- Review total usage per material
- Forecast needs for upcoming season
Cost Analysis
Analyze material costs by crop:
- Filter by specific crop
- Export material usage
- Calculate costs based on purchase prices
Application Tracking
Monitor fertilizer or chemical applications:
- Filter by material type
- Review application dates and quantities
- Ensure compliance with application schedules
Waste Reduction
Identify excessive usage:
- Compare usage across farms or zones
- Identify outliers
- Investigate and optimize practices
Troubleshooting
No Data Showing
If the report shows no data:
- Check that activities have Completed status
- Verify materials were assigned to activities
- Adjust date range or clear filters
Missing Materials
If a material doesn’t appear:
- Confirm it was assigned to completed activities
- Check the date range includes relevant activities
- Verify the material exists in inventory
Quantities Don’t Match Expected
- Verify quantities entered on activities are correct
- Check if activities are still In Progress (not counted)
- Edit activities to correct quantity values
