Bulk Create Products

When you need to add multiple products quickly, use the Bulk Create feature. It’s faster than adding products one by one and uses simplified fields.

When to Use Bulk Create

Bulk Create is ideal when:

  • Setting up your initial product catalog
  • Adding a group of related products
  • You only need basic information initially

If you need to add detailed notes or specifications, use the regular Add Product method or add details later by editing.

Create Multiple Products

Go to Resources → Inventory in the left sidebar.

Click Bulk Create

Click the Bulk Create button (next to Import CSV).

Add Product Rows

A modal window opens with the bulk create form. Each row represents one product.

For each product, fill in:

FieldRequiredDescription
Product NameYes âś±Name of the product
CategoryYes âś±Select from dropdown
UnitYes âś±Select unit of measurement
SKUNoOptional product code

Add More Rows

Click the + Add Row button to add more products. You can add as many rows as needed.

Remove Rows (If Needed)

To remove a row you don’t need, click the trash icon on the right side of that row.

Review Your Products

At the bottom of the modal, you’ll see a count of how many products will be created.

Click the Review X inventory button to continue.

Confirm and Create

Review the list of products and confirm. All products will be added to your inventory catalog.

Best Practices

Plan Your Categories

Before bulk creating, decide which categories you’ll use:

  • Group similar products together
  • Use consistent naming conventions
  • Check that categories exist in Settings → Default Values

Use Descriptive Names

Even in bulk mode, use clear names that identify each product:

  • âś… “NPK Fertilizer 15-15-15 25kg”
  • âś… “Tomato Seeds Roma Variety”
  • ❌ “Fertilizer” (too generic)

Add SKU Codes

SKU codes help with organization:

  • Use a consistent format
  • Include category prefix if helpful
  • Make them unique and easy to read

Add Details After

For a typical workflow:

  1. Use Bulk Create to quickly add all products
  2. Then edit each product individually to add:
    • Brand information
    • Detailed notes
    • Safety specifications
