Bulk Create Equipment

When you need to add multiple pieces of equipment quickly, use the Bulk Create feature. This is faster than adding items one by one and uses simplified fields.

When to Use Bulk Create

Bulk Create is ideal when:

  • Setting up your initial equipment inventory
  • Adding several similar items at once
  • You only need basic information (name, type, status)
  • Speed is more important than detailed specifications

If you need to add detailed information like manufacturer, model, and notes, use the regular Add Equipment method instead.

Creating Multiple Equipment Items

Go to Resources → Equipment in the left menu.

Click Bulk Create

Click the Bulk Create button (next to Import CSV).

Add Equipment Rows

A modal window will open with the bulk creation form. Each row represents one piece of equipment.

For each equipment item, fill in:

FieldRequiredDescription
Equipment NameYes âś±Unique name for this equipment
TypeYes âś±Select equipment type from dropdown
StatusNoCurrent status — defaults to “Available”

Add More Rows

Click the + Add Row button to add more equipment items. You can add as many rows as needed.

Each new row appears as “Equipment 1”, “Equipment 2”, etc. for reference.

Remove Rows (If Needed)

To remove a row you don’t need, click the red trash icon (🗑) on the right side of that row.

Review Your Equipment

At the bottom of the modal, you’ll see a count of how many items will be created (e.g., “2 equipment to create”).

Click the Review X equipment button to proceed.

Confirm and Create

Review the equipment list and confirm. All items will be added to your inventory and appear in the equipment table.

Best Practices

Use Descriptive Names

Even in bulk mode, use clear names that identify each item:

  • âś… “Tractor - Field A”
  • âś… “Sprayer 200L #1”
  • ❌ “Tractor” (too generic when you have multiple)

Select Correct Type

Make sure to select the appropriate equipment type for each item. This helps with:

  • Filtering equipment later
  • Reporting and analytics
  • Activity planning

Add Details After

If you need detailed specifications:

  1. Use Bulk Create to quickly add all items
  2. Then edit each item individually to add manufacturer, model, notes, and assigned farm
