Import from CSV

If you have equipment data in spreadsheets, you can import it directly into Koru.Farm using CSV files. This is the fastest way to migrate an existing inventory.

When to Use CSV Import

CSV Import is ideal when:

  • Migrating from another system
  • You have equipment data in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Adding a large number of items at once
  • Your data is already organized in a spreadsheet format

Import Process Overview

The CSV import follows a 4-step process:

  1. Upload CSV — Upload your file
  2. Verification — System checks your data
  3. Comparison — Review what will be imported
  4. Import — Add equipment to database

Step-by-Step Import

Go to Resources → Equipment in the left menu.

Click Import CSV

Click the Import CSV button (between Bulk Create and Add Equipment).

Download the Template

In the modal that opens, you’ll see Step 1 of 4: Upload CSV.

First, download the template to see the required format:

Click Download Simple Plan Equipment Template to get a CSV file with the correct column headers.

Prepare Your CSV File

Open the template and add your equipment data.

Required Fields:

FieldDescription
nameEquipment name (required, must be unique)
typeEquipment type (required, must match configured types)

Optional Fields:

You can also include additional columns for other equipment properties.

Important: Equipment type must match one of the configured types in Settings → Default Values. Common types include: Tractor, Harvester, Planter, Sprayer, Cultivator, Irrigation, Hand Tools, Other.

Upload Your CSV File

You can upload your file in two ways:

  • Drag and drop — Drag the CSV file into the upload area
  • Click to browse — Click the upload area and select your file

Only CSV files are accepted. If your data is in Excel format (.xlsx), export it as CSV first.

Verify Data (Step 2)

After uploading, the system verifies your data and checks for:

  • Required fields are present
  • Equipment types are valid
  • Names are unique
  • Data format is correct

If there are errors, they will be displayed so you can fix them in your CSV and re-upload.

Review Comparison (Step 3)

Review what will be imported:

  • See each equipment item that will be created
  • Check that information is correct
  • Verify no duplicates exist

Complete Import (Step 4)

Confirm the import to add all equipment to your database. Successfully imported items will appear in the equipment table.
